The best things about this hotel are that it is a 1-minute walk from Villach HbF; the rooms (at least mine) were clean and quiet, despite proximity to the train (and bus) station; the desk staff was friendly; and the breakfast buffet was pretty good. It's a 10-minute stroll from the old town and the most scenic part of Villach.
Two friends and I stayed one night at the hotel. It was more a cabin than a hotel and we loved it. Pine wood everywhere, furnished kitchen, two bedrooms, a living room and bath. Very clean, homey and comfortable. It's on a beautiful lake with the mountains as a backdrop. I got some beautiful photos of the lake with the sun going down over the mountains. I hope I have reason to return. There are great walking paths just down the road for a morning stroll...great atmosphere. They were very nice at...

Great hotel. Excellent breakfast. The hotel is in a total area but it is excellent for vacation to get rest or to travel around in the south part of Austria
We stayed a total of four nights while hiking in the Julian Alps. The hotel was very accommodating, at one point allowing us to extend an extra night when the weather was bad. The staff (whose English overall was quite good) also helped us change a reservation at one of the mountain huts. The breakfast buffet is generous, and the free wi-fi was easy to use and had a good connection. We would stay at the Kompas again if in KG.
Amazing place to stay while visiting Lake Bled. The rooms are clean and modern. The breakfast was delicious and the free parking was a huge bonus. Highly recommended!

Was a good place as a single night stay. Having the bunk beds was nice for the kids since it’s kind of difficult to find rooms with 4 person sleeping arrangements without a sleeper sofa. They appreciated having their own bed.
Large well designed room with a gorgeous view if you're lake side. Nice bathroom with instant hot water. Breakfast and dinner in the restaurant were delicious, buffet for both with lots of variety. All staff with whom I interacted were very nice.
We had an amazing time. Everything was perfect — the place was spotless, and the staff were extremely friendly and welcoming. The breakfast deserves a special mention because there was such a huge variety of choices, and everything was delicious. Simply a fantastic place.
