The center of Chonchi is home to cultural attractions like Museo de las Tradiciones Chonchinas, so you might want to stop by during your stay. If you want to experience more of the culture Chonchi has to offer, head to Iglesia Nuestra Senora del Rosario.
If seeing the sights is on your list of things to do, head to Nuestra Señora de Los Dolores— just one of the landmarks located 2.3 mi (3.7 km) from central Chonchi.
"Wonderful location, secure parking and super friendly staff.
Walking distance to all the sights of Castro. Warning if you plan to arrive into Castro after 6pm the traffic is dreadful!!"
"This is a fantastic property in Cucao, ideal for a few days of peace and quiet. The reception staff are very helpful and the rooms are a good size and well appointed (all have en suite bathrooms) and all have views out across the lake. The kitchen and lounge facilities are shared with the other guests, but this allows conversations and swapping tips about what to do and how to do it. It is easy to walk 5 mins down the road to visit the national park and there is a local bus that can take you to other viewpoints (e.g. Muelle de las Almas) but it only ran once up and once back per day when we were there. They do have a hot tub (wood fired, outdoors, uses the lake to source its water) which you can book at reception (they like 24 hours notice). Works better if you have a car (we did not, travelled to Cucao by local bus) and there is a local mini market for food supplies (they do not sell alcohol and they are the only shop in the village). There are restaurants and cafes within walking distance, but they are not all open all the time (we were there early season, so half of the restaurants were closed) and sometimes close early."
