We enjoyed our stay at the Hotel Hirsch overall and would consider staying there again if we were going to be in the area. The front of the building reminds me of something out of a Wes Anderson film, and the inside is equally cute and comfortable with an updated, yet traditional Bavarian feel. The hotel was in an excellent location and the staff, particularly Dami (?), was very kind and helpful. The breakfast offerings were unbelievable--definitely take advantage of that. Also, make sure to take a bike to the castle. It's a lovely bike ride and easier to manage. Just really pay attention to the warnings to get there 1.5-2 hours in advance.
