A true getaway resort. I believe this hotel's biggest feature is that you don't want to travel outside of the hotel. If you plan on seeing the island of Samui, this might not be the hotel for you b/c it's about a 20-30 minutes drive back to the touristy beach places.

I can't say enough great things about this hotel. The Staff was accommodating and extremely friendly. The pool villa was perfect! Total privacy. The pool was actually large enough to swim in (laps). The food was excellent. Great variety of breakfast foods. The spa services were wonderful. Only been back to work a few days and I'm ready to book again! LOL
Loved everything about this place! They exceeded all of our expectations. The most pleasant staff, outstanding facilities and services, gorgeous rooms. The small private beach is wonderful for amazing sunsets with lounge chairs placed on rocks and delicious cocktails. It's a very quite and romantic place, we didn't want to leave it. Also they light up a place at night with amazing candles, lanterns, etc. - feels like from a fairy tale.

We had a wonderful stay at Anavana. Every detail was perfect. Our cottage with an ocean view, was spacious and just right for 3 of us-- a couple with 20 year old son. The food was delicious, the staff was amazing, the beach was gorgeous. I highly recommend the resort and would definitely stay here again.

Loved this hotel...the staff was so friendly and the property itself was beautful! The gardens and pool/beach were the perfect setting and the breakfast buffet was excellent. I really like Bophut beach....good water for swimming and on the quieter side..Fishermans Village is a short walk by beach or road and full of good shops and restaurants. Rooms are very nicely decorated and each with their own little patios...I knocked 1 star off the room as we would have preferred the bathroom area more...
Excellent stay and would return. Staff were so helpful providing tips and suggestions to make our stay better. Pool was beautiful; on site restaurant food was great as well as pool-side service. The view out to the ocean from the restaurant was magical. The Pandora Cafe, 7-11, and ATMs across the street were so good and convenient. Rooms were spacious and really appreciated the availability of filtered water.
Upgraded our room because the other one was under repair. Managed to crash a motor bike and break my arm - the staff and owner couldn’t have been nicer or more accommodating. Wonderful views as well as caring staff. Would highly recommend.
Check in was easy and great. They provided a welcome drink and snack. The staff was very friendly throughout the whole stay. The room was nice and clean. I really liked the room as it was kind of by itself up on the hill. Having the pool just outside the room was great and the hot tub was amazing, especially at night. Every aspect of the facility and our experiences there were outstanding. The only suggestion I would make is regarding dairy housekeeping. The staff are wonderful but they are provided with a broom rather than a vacuum cleaner for cleaning. The result is some accumulation of dust etc in the corners and remote areas of the room. Understanding that speed of turnover is important, but in light of the low cost and high availability of labor, hiring additional workers and purchasing vacuum cleaners...

I loved my stay from start to finish. Extended my trip to Koh Samui by 3 days and decided to stay at White Whale and I'm glad I did. The staff were incredibly kind and helpful every step of the way. Very nice breakfast! The pool doesn’t get much sun, but that’s why you have the beach!! Our room was nice, they provided a beach bag and clean beach towels daily. We were very happy!
Friendly, excellent staff, especially the staff at the restaurant. Great location right on the beach. Hotel was very clean and well maintained. Only one complaint... try as I might, I was never able to get the shower to run warm... kept changing from scorching hot to cool and back. Maybe just my room? Otherwise, this was an excellent resort. Would definitely stay here again if I get back to Ko Samui.
