Downtown Hartford
Downtown Hartford boasts a bustling business district, housing major corporations and Connecticut's state government. Explore historic sites like the Wadsworth Atheneum, Bushnell Park, and the Old State House, while enjoying convenient access to Connecticut Transit Hartford and Union Station.

Asylum Hill
Asylum Hill offers a literary journey through American history with its iconic landmarks. The Mark Twain House dazzles with orange brick and ornate trim, while the Harriet Beecher Stowe Center showcases colonial charm just steps away. Wander tree-canopied streets lined with stunning Victorian and Gothic Revival homes that transport you to the 19th century. The Cathedral of St. Joseph adds architectural splendor to this storied neighborhood. Cozy bed & breakfasts in converted Victorian homes provide the perfect base for exploring this quiet residential area. While public transit is limited, the neighborhood's attractions are fairly walkable. Museum gift shops offer literary-themed souvenirs, and scattered cafes serve diverse, casual fare for hungry history buffs.

South Green
South Green offers a charming journey through Hartford's architectural heritage with its well-preserved 19th-century buildings. The tree-lined streets showcase beautiful Victorian and Colonial Revival homes, creating an authentic residential experience away from downtown's bustle. This historic district gives travelers a genuine glimpse into local Hartford life while celebrating the area's diverse Latino cultural influences. The neighborhood puts you just a short walk from downtown attractions like the Bushnell Center and Wadsworth Atheneum Museum of Art. Local bodegas and family-run eateries serve authentic Puerto Rican and Dominican specialties at wallet-friendly prices. While public transit is limited, the quiet, walkable streets make exploring this cultural enclave a peaceful adventure.

North Meadows
North Meadows delivers a double dose of entertainment with its modern amphitheater scene and riverside charm. The Xfinity Theatre hosts major concerts where music lovers can catch their favorite artists live. When shows aren't happening, you can explore Riverside Park along the Connecticut River or check out quirky landmarks like the Statue of Jack the Pardoned Turkey. Getting around requires wheels since this transformed industrial area sits right off I-91. Expect limited dining options that primarily cater to concert crowds. Most visitors drive in for specific events rather than staying overnight, making North Meadows the perfect stop for music fans wanting to catch a show before exploring the rest of Hartford.

Candlewood Suites Hartford Downtown by IHG
"It was a nice comfy cozy room. The room was clean. They had enough amenities. It was a nice day. I only stayed one night, but it was a nice day."
The Goodwin Hotel
"The hotel was very nice. Staff was wonderful. Room was clean. The only thing I didnt like was they didnt change my sheets, they took my original bed sheets, and simply tucked it back to the bed. Most hotels replace it entirely and make the bed. Breakfast was very low end like cereal and water..no options to eat breakfast. No restarant just a bar downstairs with Tapas and very limited on openings. I didnt mind as more places were available outside the hotel, but still it was a nice place to stay. I do plan on returning becuase they made me feel welcome and with respect. I value that over anything."

"Very nice apartment. The only downside is the highway noise. "
