"Had a bit of an issue with the fireplace and the chemical packages that they give you to start the fireplace. We had to vacate the cabin for a few hours as the chemical smell aired out. Probably not the best choice to use the gel to start the fire. Maybe just throw in some kindling with the overpriced wood that you can purchase. Staff ended up giving me some kindling the next night and was better. Overall Idyllwild Inn is a good place right in town."

"The hotel was great overall, great pool and several cabanas for use! Lots of lounge chairs. It was just a bit loud in the mornings. The cleaning staff start to roll the carts out by 9am, and there was construction on the property that started at about 9:30 as well. And the doors are weighted and can slam very loudly throughout the morning and day. Overall still a great stay, but if you like to sleep in this might be something to consider."
