Learn more about Mayagüez
Wander through Plaza Colon where Christopher Columbus stands sentinel, surrounded by locals who've perfected the art of leisurely afternoon chats. The impressive Catedral de Nuestra Senora de la Candelaria offers cool sanctuary from tropical heat. At Playa El Maní, waves provide the soundtrack while families spread picnics across golden sand. The University of Puerto Rico campus buzzes with youthful energy, explaining why this 'Sultaness of the West' feels perpetually young. Casinos offer evening entertainment without the Vegas excess – more social gathering than serious gambling. Local restaurants serve mango in ways you've never imagined, earning the city its 'Mango City' nickname. Visit Yaguez Theater for a glimpse of colonial-era grandeur that somehow survived modernization.

Parguera Plaza Hotel - Adults Only
"Excelente 20/10⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️"
Holiday Inn Mayaguez and Tropical Casino by IHG
"Excellent hotel - close to everything, beautiful and clean! Great family hotel!"
Lazy Parrot Inn
"Simple comfort hotel with great views, kind staff, and sounds of the wildlife to put you to sleep. We had hardwood floors so I’d recommend bringing slippers. Plan ahead to be up in the mountains and getting ubers in the area is very difficult. Otherwise lots of great restaurants and beaches are 8-12 minutes away if you call local taxi services."
Parador El Faro
"Everything excellent, only room service (cleaning) was a little off, the bedding wasnt neat."
Hotel Colonial
"Loved"
Bella Surf Inn
"Great place to beat the heat AND hear waves crash while you sleep. Jobo's at its best."
Hotel Mayaguez Plaza, BW Signature Collection
"We like its location since is close to the places we like to visit."
Rocamar Resort & Restaurant - All Inclusive
"The room was clean and has a fridge and microwave, Only thing was a cockroach in the bathroom but thankfully it was dead, The dogs are very cute and sweet however, sometimes heard them barking while we were sleeping which woke us up a few times during our stay. The food was ok. The staff is very nice and helped us get checked in safely, I would come here again. Its really close to two other beautiful towns."
Tryp by Wyndham Mayaguez
"Todo estuvo bien, excepto que a mi llegada, no estaban las toallas disponibles, espere mucho en el baño que las trajeran y tuve que secarme, lo que pude, con la toalla pequeña de mano."
