Quiet location, excellent management, comfortable bed, nice furnishings, good continental breakfast with (as everybody mentions) delicious muffins. Our only complaint is why I downgraded "comfort" & "condition" slightly, as there doesn't seem to be anyplace else where it fits. The tub/shower in Room 17 is old (naturally; the age of everything is a large part of the inn's charm) & requires a long step (at least for us senior citizens) up to get inside and down to leave. This is my third time staying here and I’ve never been disappointed. I’ve stayed here twice during the summer and once during the fall. The rooms are super cozy. The room is always so clean and smells great. It’s close enough to downtown and Arcadia National Park. When in the room you can’t hear the traffic. Hanscom’s is definitely a diamond in the rough. I also have to say Isis who works at the property is always super nice and fast with responding if you email her.

We stayed 2 nights at the Highbrook, Sept. 14th & 15th. The room was large and spotless, and had been recently renovated. The location was perfect for visiting Acadia and the Town of Bar Harbor. The free shuttle buses stop at the hotel. The breakfast was very good, it included Breakfast Sandwiches, Oatmeal, Bagels, Muffins, Eggs, Yogurt, Bananas, Orange Juice, Coffee, Hot Chocolate and Condiments of all types. We would definitely stay here again.
