Learn more about West Glacier
Arrive at the western gateway to Glacier National Park, where adventure begins before you've even checked in. The Going-to-the-Sun Road delivers heart-stopping mountain views that explain why engineers spent years figuring out how to carve it into impossible cliffs. Rent kayaks to glide across Lake McDonald's crystal waters, where mountains reflect with such clarity you'll wonder which way is up. The Apgar Visitor Center offers ranger-led hikes that transform casual walks into fascinating ecology lessons. Wildlife spotting becomes inevitable rather than exceptional – bighorn sheep appear on rocky outcrops like they're posing for your camera. For a quieter experience, explore Hidden Lake's turquoise waters or venture to nearby Hungry Horse Reservoir when the park feels too crowded.

Meadow Lake Resort & Condos
"Excellent location well looked after"
Wonderstone at Glacier
"The room was very nice. Great location for all Glacier National Park activities and surrounding activities. Nice and comfortable memory foam beds. No one is at the front desk at night if you need anything. Didn't spend much time there during the day. It was perfect to meet the needs for our weeklong vacation."

"Great spacious room"
Paddle Ridge
"Paddle Ridge is an excellent place to stay only minutes from Glacier NP. With a cabin that could easily sleep 5 people it is a great value. If they could just install a couple of Adirondack chairs in front of cabin, they would have it all!!"
Belton Chalet
"This is an amazing historic hotel right outside of glacier national. The Front desk staff were awesome; college kids from Lexington Kentucky. The on-site restaurant is fabulous. Joe can fix you up some great huckleberry cocktails. It’s a perfect place to stay when you’re in the area."
Apgar Lookout Suites
"The Apgar Lookout Suites was an amazing place to stay, a home away from home. It had so much room for our family of 5 including 2 adult children and a teenager. Great location near so many wonderful activities, hikes and scenery!"
Lake McDonald Lodge - Inside the Park
"We love to visit NP lodges and Lake McDonald lodge did not disappoint. The staff from check-in to check-out were friendly, very helpful and always listening for ways to make our stay more comfortable and enjoyable. We ate onsite at the Fireside Dining Room and Lucke's Lounge--food cooked to our request, service consistent, and prices reasonable considering location. The lobby is inviting with the beautiful lantern lights, the fireplace with etched stone and a variety of comfortable seating. And most important, the views inside the lodge and outside are outstanding. Our accommodation was a small cabin and we enjoyed looking out our door and seeing a path to the lake. We took the Western Alpine Red Bus tour which is a great way to see the western side of Going To The Sun Road without driving. Jammer Bill provided humor and fun as he shared the history of the road."
