Learn more about West Glacier
Arrive at the western gateway to Glacier National Park, where adventure begins before you've even checked in. The Going-to-the-Sun Road delivers heart-stopping mountain views that explain why engineers spent years figuring out how to carve it into impossible cliffs. Rent kayaks to glide across Lake McDonald's crystal waters, where mountains reflect with such clarity you'll wonder which way is up. The Apgar Visitor Center offers ranger-led hikes that transform casual walks into fascinating ecology lessons. Wildlife spotting becomes inevitable rather than exceptional – bighorn sheep appear on rocky outcrops like they're posing for your camera. For a quieter experience, explore Hidden Lake's turquoise waters or venture to nearby Hungry Horse Reservoir when the park feels too crowded.

West Glacier Cabin Village
"The cabins over met my expectations. The staff were amazing and very knowledgeable about the recreation and restaurants. I would definitely stay here again and I highly recommend West Cabin Village. The cabins were very clean, bug free and the inside decorations and decor were quaint with the kitchenette having all things to make a dinner. It also included BBQ pit on the front porch. The cabins were conveniently located near the park, restaurants and other attractions!!!"
Meadow Lake Resort & Condos
"Our third year visiting this resort is amazing. Not far from the main road close to grocery store, you can walk around the property. It's very quiet, hot tub is amazing. We don't golf, but we just like the tranquility of the resort from Alberta, Canada and drive was very nice. If you're visiting in the summer, make sure you go to the Rocky. BAR O cabin on flat head. Lake FOR A DAY, VISIT, BRING YOUR OWN FOOD. THEY HAVE BARBECUES, LAWN CHAIRS, TOWELS. RIGHT ON THE LAKE AND USE OF PADDLE BOARDS CANOES., which is included, stay with this resort."

Lake McDonald Lodge - Inside the Park
"We love to visit NP lodges and Lake McDonald lodge did not disappoint. The staff from check-in to check-out were friendly, very helpful and always listening for ways to make our stay more comfortable and enjoyable. We ate onsite at the Fireside Dining Room and Lucke's Lounge--food cooked to our request, service consistent, and prices reasonable considering location. The lobby is inviting with the beautiful lantern lights, the fireplace with etched stone and a variety of comfortable seating. And most important, the views inside the lodge and outside are outstanding. Our accommodation was a small cabin and we enjoyed looking out our door and seeing a path to the lake. We took the Western Alpine Red Bus tour which is a great way to see the western side of Going To The Sun Road without driving. Jammer Bill provided humor and fun as he shared the history of the road."
