My family is really into finding cool trails, gem mining, and cavern delving - Blowing Rock is solidly in the middle of a whole network of those exact things. It has great access to the Blue Ridge Parkway too!

Close to the Blue Ridge Parkway. Less than 2 miles to Thunder ridge overlook where I went to view the sunset. It was really beautiful.

This was the best side of Blowing rock. Close to food and shopping but no crowds. Very quiet and pleasant.
"We loved this hotel. The staff is terrific. We enjoyed sitting on our balcony. The food was good, and the bar area was a nice gathering spot. The only negatives were the main level was often very chilly, and we didn’t care for the pillows on the bed. They were too big or hard. We couldn’t decide. The mattress was great though and there were very nice amenities in the bathroom. Overall a great experience, and will go back and recommend it to others."
"The only thing that might be a drawback for some is the lack of convenient outlets for tech devices. They were there, but a little hard to get to. This wasn't enough of a problem for me to downgrade my rating, because it was such a nice play to stay."
