Learn more about Black Mountain

Tucked into the Blue Ridge Mountains, this artsy town invites exploration of Cherry Street's galleries and craft shops. Lake Tomahawk offers a perfect spot for a leisurely afternoon, while hikers can tackle nearby trails in Montreat. The Black Mountain College Museum celebrates the town's surprising avant-garde history. Live music spills from local venues most evenings, providing soundtrack to pints at craft breweries. Venture to Catawba Falls for impressive cascades or Mount Mitchell State Park to stand atop the highest peak east of the Mississippi. The Swannanoa Valley Museum reveals fascinating local history in a building that's seen it all. Don't miss sampling Appalachian cuisine – hearty mountain food that sticks to your ribs like the town sticks in your memory.

"Our room was beautiful… truly… but next time we will book a room with no one above us. We could hear every word uttered and step taken above us… but we love the vibe and feel so much, and everyone was so helpful! It was suggested that we drive to Tomahawk Lake— which we did— and had a lovely afternoon reading by the lake and listening to the ducks. 💕"

"The staff was amazing from start to finish. The room was clean and sooo cute although we now know for next time to get a bigger room, my husband takes up a lot of space. Breakfast was so yummy. I had the pumpkin pancakes and they were amazing. Parking was easy and loved being able to remote start the car from our room (the weather chose to turn to cold that weekend). Will defiantly be going back. Also they left us a little Happy Anniversary card in our room."
