"The staff at the front desk (esp Jamal) was friendly and helpful. The property was generally dirty and not well maintained. Floors throughout were not cleaned. Breakfast area was very busy and the staff could not keep up with stocking items or cleaning tables. The AC unit in our room did not work. Shower floor was so dirty that I wore my shoes to take a shower! This property was not a good reflection on the Holiday Inn Express /IHG brand."

"Comfortable and quiet. Safe. However basic and outdated for price and brand. Carpet in room caused allergies to trigger for our family. The room constantly felt humid and damp with AC on. Definitely overdue for a remodel. Breakfast was just ok. Seems like the attendant would have been more prepared for guests, but ran out of coffee, ran out of hash browns, never did see any butter for breads… etc."

"The hotel is a wonderful historic place to stay. The room was clean and well appointed. It pays to learn the history of this restored building. My only complaint was with the slow table service and poor breakfast quality. The food and coffee were slow coming. The simple egg, sausage, potatoes and toast meal was over done and the toast was both unbuttered and cold. I’d give it a second chance because they were very short staffed and I want the hotel to succeed. It’s worth a stay."
