Old Mountain View
Old Mountain View blends Silicon Valley charm with historic character along tree-lined streets filled with Craftsman bungalows and Victorian homes. Castro Street buzzes with independent bookstores, diverse eateries, and a weekly farmers market where locals swap stories over fresh produce. The Mountain View Center for the Performing Arts anchors the cultural scene while neighborhood parks offer peaceful green spaces. Dining options range from Vietnamese pho to farm-to-table bistros, all within walking distance of this pedestrian-friendly neighborhood. The nearby Mountain View Caltrain station connects you to the wider Bay Area, making car-free exploration a breeze. Most visitors stay in nearby hotels since lodging within the neighborhood is limited to occasional bed and breakfasts.
Cuesta Park
Cuesta Park's tree-lined streets and family-friendly atmosphere make this Mountain View neighborhood feel like a genuine California suburb. Tennis enthusiasts can enjoy matches at the Cuesta Park Tennis Center while kids climb on colorful playground equipment. The expansive green spaces with mature oak trees provide perfect spots for picnics and lazy afternoon strolls away from Silicon Valley's tech bustle. You'll need wheels to explore beyond this residential haven, as public transit is limited. Dining options are sparse within the neighborhood itself, so plan to drive to nearby Castro Street for restaurants. Accommodation consists mainly of home rentals that offer a quiet retreat with gardens and suburban comforts.

Shoreline West

While the neighborhood itself offers few attractions, you're just minutes from Mountain View Center for the Performing Arts and the scenic Stevens Creek Trail. Klein Park provides a lovely spot for afternoon relaxation. Getting around is a breeze with excellent Caltrain access connecting you to San Francisco and San Jose. Most visitors head to nearby downtown Mountain View for diverse dining options. Vacation rentals in residential homes offer a genuine glimpse into local family life, complete with quiet evenings and morning birdsong.

Monta Loma
Monta Loma offers a slice of genuine Silicon Valley living without the tourist crowds. This charming residential neighborhood boasts mid-century modern homes and quiet, tree-lined streets perfect for morning strolls. Nearby San Antonio Shopping Center provides retail therapy while tech enthusiasts can visit the Googleplex just a short drive away. Dining requires venturing beyond neighborhood boundaries, but food trucks occasionally appear at local events. Accommodation is primarily vacation rentals in family homes with private yards. While public transit is limited, ride-sharing services are readily available, making it easy to explore Mountain View's attractions from this peaceful residential base.

Aloft by Marriott Mountain View
"We enjoyed our stay there last night. It was a good value for our money and staff was courteous and helpful. The only thing that stood out to me was the amount of buildup in the fan vent in the bathroom. Other than that I have no complaints. We will definitely stay there again. This place is cute."
Ramada by Wyndham Mountain View
"We’ve stayed here a couple times for Shoreline concerts. Rooms have always been clean and comfortable. This is the only hotel we will use when going to Shoreline Amphitheater!!!"

Hotel Avante - JDV by Hyatt
"Hotel Avante was just right for our pre- and post- concert stay. The rooms were clean and pretty, super comfy bed! The pool & hot tub were just the ticket for a relaxing swim and soak. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Will definitely stay here again."
Holiday Inn Express & Suites Mountain View Silicon Valley by IHG
"clean"
SureStay Plus Hotel by Best Western Mountain View
"It’s a little bit older, but well maintained. Very clean, staff very helpful. I don’t know about more than a night or two if, like us, you plan for times when you just hang in the room, but for a stop over or stay for a concert nearby which is what we had perfect and everybody was really nice and the room was really clean. The pool looked quite nice. I regret we did not have time."
Signature Inn Mountain View
"Very reasonable in a very expensive area."
Hotel Zico, BW Signature Collection
"Staff was very helpful and the room prefect."
