Between the Rockies and Denver, this former mining town has reinvented itself without losing its soul. Meander through Old Town's brick-lined streets where local shops and cafes occupy historic buildings that once housed coal miners. The Louisville Historical Museum reveals tales of labor strikes and boom times. Coal Creek Trail offers perfect cycling terrain with mountain views that explain why locals seem perpetually cheerful. Catch live performances at local theaters, or visit the vibrant farmers market where conversations flow as freely as local honey. Sports enthusiasts can hit the links at Coal Creek Golf Course or watch ice hockey at the Sport Stable. For a perfect evening, grab dinner at an Old Town patio before strolling to Sweet Cow for ice cream that justifies the line.
The breakfast offers a wide variety and a staff person is attentive to replenish the options. The desk staff are friendly and helpful. We stayed 10 nights with no problems. Because of the pandemic, housekeeping doesn't enter the rooms but we could always get fresh towels, etc. as needed. We could have changed rooms after five nights but felt no need to. This was our second stay here and we are sure to return.
We checked in to the Hampton after looking at hotels on line. The young lady at the front desk was very friendly and professional. Answered all my questions and gave directions on parking. Was very nice in providing us extra pillows and showing us the location of the ice machine instead of just pointing. The breakfast was all that you could ask for with fresh fruit, pre made omelets , rolls muffins, waffles, yogurt, coffee, juice, etc. It was very clean and re replenished often.
The bed was...
The double bed Suite was very nice. Big room with lots of space. The Kickback meals are nice and the free alcohol drinks are nice if you like to drink. You get a card for 3 drinks. Hotel is very nice and the staff go out of their way for whatever you need. I have found that the best Drury's are in the big cities.
My wife and I spent a 4 day getaway at Chautauqua. It was a perfect place to relax and enjoy the outdoors.
We flew into Denver and took the RTD bus into Boulder. It was then a one mile walk to Chautauqua. We arrived well before check-in, so the front desk let us leave our bags with them and we continued our day.
The hiking trails start right outside the cottages. The large park was great for relaxing and reading in the shade.
We loved walking to Pearl St and enjoying the foodie Boulder...
The staff was very friendly and helpful. The cleaning process for COVID prevention is outstanding. The rooms were extra large and had more unused space than most hotel rooms! The bathroom was spotless. The room was very quiet and the bed was way above average. Only spent one night so can’t comment on location to restaurants and other services. Easy access off a main road.
An outstanding place to spend a few nights if you:
- want to be in the central part of Denver, walking distance to pretty much all attractions and eateries.
- love historic hotels, meaning you are not looking for a huge TV or swimming pool, you are looking for a VIBE.
- are a real bath aficionado: 6 feet copper bathtub is waiting for you in your room. Yes, there is a shower as well.
Beautifully appointed rooms. Bath was marvelous. Location is great.
Service is friendly.
Bed is comfortable....
Beautiful property and room with an excellent location. We took the train from the airport to to Union Station and it was not even a 1 block walk to the hotel. Walkable to Coors Field, river walking trails and Larimer Square. Perfect weekend trip!
Hotel was very clean and staff was very friendly. Only issue was when I got a receipt at the hotel. Was 100 cheaper then what I paid for on Expedia. Talked to customer service and they told me it was due to rates changing. Would definitely recommend hotel but booking on your self and not on Expedia
Booked this hotel since very close to Union Station, easy access to/from airport using train & shuttle to Red Rocks. Great value, lots of amenities- free coffee bar, ice cream bar, car service for 2 mile radius. Hotel was nice, room, comfy bed, bathroom.
The thing I like most is the shuttle service. It's free within 5 miles. It's so convenient for customers like me. And staffs are friendly most of time.
This hotel is like brand new. Everything is clean and shining. The breakfast room is spacious with luxury lamps. The hot breakfast is various. I love this hotel. It's much better than I expect and I think it's the best hotel I ever lived.
