"The first room we were given appeared not to have been cleaned in weeks. There was roughly one‑sixth of an inch of dust coating nearly every flat surface in the immediate vicinity, which clearly indicated that basic housekeeping and hygiene standards were not being met. Due to these conditions, we were moved to another room. The second room, however, was in even worse condition and looked as if it had been left in a state of disrepair. The sink was broken and unusable, the bathroom exhaust fan was exposed and nonfunctional, and several plumbing fixtures were protruding from their intended locations, giving the impression of unfinished or poorly maintained work. Taken together, these issues made the accommodation feel unsafe, unsanitary, and far below the standard that a paying guest should reasonably expect."
