Learn more about Bonner Springs
Tap your toes at Azura Amphitheater, where summer concerts fill warm evenings with everything from rock legends to country stars. The Moon Marble Company offers a quirky detour - watch artisans create glass spheres that would make your childhood collection weep with inadequacy. Agricultural history comes alive at the National Hall of Fame, where farming implements tell America's story without a hint of urban condescension. Come autumn, the Kansas City Renaissance Festival transforms the outskirts into a medieval playground where turkey legs are consumed with gleeful abandon. After exploring, the nearby Legends Outlets beckon with shopping that doesn't require a second mortgage. Family-friendly without being painfully dull - a rare combination indeed.

"Peaceful on the Liberty wing or hall"
Margaritaville Hotel Kansas City
"You're basically getting what you think you're going to get at Margaritaville. It's branded to the max, there's a great outdoor pool with a slide my kids couldn't get enough of and the staff were mostly friendly and attentive. The food was better then I anticipated. My main complaint is that the ninja challenge thing in the indoor pool was broken and that had been a major draw for my kids. In addition, a lot of the games in the arcade were either completely down or only one player could play at a time. It also seems like they misjudged how many elevators were needed for the property and there was often quite a long wait for the elevators. Not huge deals, but for a newish property, I was surprised at how many things were inoperable."

Hotel Lotus Kansas City Merriam
"It was an excellent hotel, The free breakfast was great. Pancakes with strawberry toppings were delicious. They had eggs, sausage, biscuits and gravy, and home fries. The room was clean and comfortable, but a little on the small size since we had four adults in the room. We probably should have gotten a larger suite. That said, the refrigerator was very small. We bring food with us when we travel and we had to leave some fruit unrefrigerated since there wasn't enough room. Except for that, the room was fine. We used our own hot spot, so I don't know how good the hotel's wifi was. The parking lot was a little small. I don't know why, but on all five nights we were there, it was close to being full, even on Sunday night. That made it a little hard to park when we got back. However, part of the problem was that there were some times people who park in a handicapped space who did not have a handicapped plate or placard. One in particular was a grey Kia with Kansas plates. If this was an employee who just parked there because they knew they could get away with it... So the hotel needs to watch this and enforce the regulations regarding handicapped parking. But overall, this was a good hotel. We will probably stay there again the next time we're in the area."
