It was an off beat location but a completely private compound with gated security to enter! The front desk staff were very helpful and spoke English but no one else was English speaking making it difficult to order food and drinks but we made it work! This was an amazing hotel, within walking distance to the US Embassy which was the purpose of the trip. We ordered dinner our first night and the salad was absolutely amazing, my fiancee was raving about how excellent everything was. The hotel itself is excellent. As soon as you step outside you’re risking your life. Filthy dirty, loaded with homeless people doing very obscene things on the street, lots of beggars.
The property was nice. The room (on 4th floor) had an interesting smell. I thought it smelled like moth repellant or cockroach repellant. But my wife said it smelled like moist mold or something. It wasn’t very bad. Breakfast was very good. The staff was really great.
My stay at Miramar by Windsor Copacabana was outstanding. The staff was professional, friendly, and welcoming, which made the whole experience feel warm and personal. The restaurant was a highlight of my trip — breakfast was absolutely delicious and the perfect way to start the day, and dinner in the evening was just as memorable, both for the food and the atmosphere.
