Small, mountain town sitting next the Kern River. Local camping seems to be the main attraction, as well as heading up into the Sequoias. We stayed in early Dec, so it was off season, chilly with the restaurants hosting locals for the most part.

Kernville is a nice quiet little town, in the mountains. Most people I have come in contact with are very friendly and helpful. There is plenty of different foods close by. A laundry mat near by and a beautiful park to watch the river running by.

We loved our stay in Kernville, thanks to the local motel we found. We were able to enjoy the river at the heart of Kernville and explore the antique stores. It is a nice getaway spot, only three hours from LA. Highly recommended.

I absolutely loved kernville, but I would like to see some leash law enforcement.
"It's close to the river. We've been camping at Camp 3 for over 20 years. This time, we wanted to sleep comfortably and be close to the river to enjoy it more. The second night, they helped us light the BBQ and make a campfire. The gentleman was very kind."
"This is the most convenient spot, everything is within walking distance. Stayed upstairs with balcony, excellent spot, spacious, clean, with all the amenities. Definitely staying here again!"
