Learn more about Mercer Island

Floating in Lake Washington, this affluent island offers a peaceful escape just minutes from Seattle's urban buzz. Kayak along the shoreline where waterfront mansions peek through towering evergreens. Luther Burbank Park provides sandy beaches and off-leash dog areas where four-legged locals socialize with more enthusiasm than their owners. Summer concerts fill Mercerdale Park with picnicking families sprawled across blankets. The community center hosts everything from tennis matches to art exhibitions. Bicentennial Park's trails wind through native forests that somehow survived development. While the island itself feels like a retreat, the I-90 bridges make Pike Place Market and the Space Needle quick trips for when island tranquility needs a dash of city energy.

Coast Gateway Hotel

"Functional, not fancy...perfect for me. Clean and well maintained but those are table stakes. What I really appreciated is the layout, large desk with table top electrical sockets, comfortable chair, Starbucks coffee, uncluttered nightstands with built-in electric sockets. The free breakfast and airport shuttle we're also appreciated. It's just across the parking lot from Sharps Roadhouse, a very decent restaurant/brew pub. Perfect for business travelers or someone who needs to stay the night before their flight."

Mayflower Park Hotel

Mayflower Park Hotel

8/10 Good
"Overall, we had a pleasant stay. We booked a deluxe Queen room. The room was clean and there was plenty of space for me, my husband and our 3 month old. I liked the room city view also. However, it was obvious that the bed was only TWIN size not a Queen - we have a Queen bed at home. So we slept quite squished on the bed. Also, the front desk staff did not give us a bit more time to check out. Hence, the 4 star."

"It took 20 minutes to cjeck in at 5:05 and our room was not ready. I was with a 86 year old woman having surgery in the morning. They put us in a room next door while getting our room ready. She laid down to rest and fell asleep, then i had to wake her up to be moved to our room. Terrible service."
