City of Industry
City of Industry defies its artistic-sounding name with an authentic working landscape of warehouses and businesses. Round 1 Bowling and SpeedZone Los Angeles offer family-friendly entertainment amid this commercial hub, while bargain hunters can hit Puente Hills Mall for retail therapy. The Industry Hills Golf Club provides unexpected green relief from concrete surroundings. Budget chain hotels and practical dining options make this area a smart choice for travelers watching their wallets. Getting around requires a car, though the Walnut Industry Station connects rail travelers to wider Los Angeles. Most businesses operate weekday hours, so plan accordingly for this uniquely functional slice of Southern California.

Bassett
Bassett lets you experience authentic suburban life in LA County without the tourist crowds. The neighborhood's family-friendly streets and local taquerias serve up genuine Mexican culture and home-style cooking. Catch weekend events at the Esther Snyder Community Center or take a short drive to nearby attractions like Irwindale Speedway. Budget travelers appreciate the affordable motels and vacation rentals that cost much less than downtown LA options. Getting around requires a car, but you'll find ample parking and easy access to greater Los Angeles. This welcoming neighborhood treats you to family-run Mexican taquerias serving up fresh tortillas and carnitas at wallet-friendly prices. Kids play in the streets while the scent of home cooking drifts through quiet residential blocks lined with ranch-style homes and mature palm trees. Small local parks provide breathing room between stucco houses and strip malls. You'll need wheels to get around since public transit is limited, but that's part of the charm. Accommodation options lean toward vacation rentals in family homes, giving you a genuine peek into local life without the tourist markup.

West Puente Valley
West Puente Valley offers a slice of authentic suburban life in eastern Los Angeles County. Families stroll through small neighborhood parks while the aroma of fresh tortillas and grilled meats fills the air. This residential community showcases Hispanic cultural traditions through local taquerias and family-run restaurants serving carnitas and birria at wallet-friendly prices. The San Gabriel Mountains create a stunning backdrop for this laid-back area. Getting around requires a car, with limited public transit but plenty of street parking. Modest ranch homes with stucco exteriors and palm-lined streets create a genuine Southern California vibe. Hotel Lulu, BW Premier Collection
"We normally have a very good experience at Lulu which is why we return, however this visit was a little annoying. Or Rob was in the second tower,4th floor, my husband walks with a cane and we left the scooter in the lobby. Get to the room and neither key would work. Try calling, have to keep trying different options, finally get front desk and they send someone with me keys. The next night we return to the hotel, plug in the scooter and go out the door to the second tower. The key won't open the door, try to go back to the main building, key won't work and now we're locked out in the dark between both buildings. Try banging on door, no one heard. We're can't walk around because my husband can't make that walk. Try calling again and finally get the front desk and Michael came out to help, and then came to the room with us to make sure the new keys worked at the room. This was really annoying especially after a long tiring day"
Grand Legacy At the Park
"Not bad especially for the price."
The Westin Bonaventure Hotel and Suites, Los Angeles
"Very cool lobby area. I felt like I was in the middle of all the action they gave me a nice voucher that covered my whole meal. Love the vibe here, beautiful views."
Desert Palms Hotel & Suites
"Didn’t know what to expect when we booked it. Reviews varied from “hidden gem” to “dated and don’t stay” honestly , the hotel is a little dated, but it wasn’t bad at all. The staff were super nice and for the location, the price was great. We stayed in room 318 and had no issues with noise. I know a lot of reviews complained about noise depending on the room. Also, the convenience of having a 7/11 right there when you walk out and on your way to the park is great. It’s about a 10-15 walk to Disneyland depending on how fast you’re walking. Only issue I had was there was no shower curtain in the bathroom. Only noticed it when we got back late from Disneyland. Other than that, I have no problem re booking this hotel"
citizenM Los Angeles Downtown
"Love staying at citizenM properties and this one has been great. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Rooms always have what I need and the features feel right for the price point."
Clementine Hotel & Suites Anaheim
"We loved staying here! It's a bit old, the rooms could use an update and some deep cleaning, but it's really a fun vibe and the bi level loft suite with a kitchen is fantastic for families. The complimentary breakfast was really great too! The walk to Disneyland was about 20 mins. Doable but kind of far. We didn't mind though. Would definitely recommend this hotel!"
