Learn more about Damariscotta
Beneath the Main Street bridge, the Damariscotta River delivers what locals call 'the best oysters in New England' to waterfront restaurants where shuckers work with practiced precision. The Twin Villages offer a perfect Maine day - browsing art at Jan Kilburn's watercolor gallery before exploring prehistoric shell middens left by indigenous peoples thousands of years ago. Paddle the tranquil river where osprey dive dramatically for fish, or time a visit for the Damariscotta Farmer's Market when tables groan with local produce. At Pemaquid Beach Park, the sand squeaks underfoot - a sound that becomes oddly satisfying after the first few steps. The Frances Perkins Center honors America's first female cabinet member, while Biscay Pond offers quiet kayaking away from the coastal bustle.

Fishermans Wharf Inn
"The location is great for all the shops and restaurants. Our Keurig coffee maker wasn’t working and maintenance was up within a few minutes to fix it. I mentioned that a chair would be great to have instead of sitting on the bed and he had one in our room right away. Super nice guy. I didn’t get his name but he was from Jamaica. My biggest complaint of this place is the ancient creaky old bathtub and shower from the 70’s. It’s way too small and then they put in the shower gel, shampoo, conditioner dispensers. Not good."

"EZ Parking, Staff was very Professional, property was clean and local area was very nice but there is a ferry port and factory across the street so don't expect it to be the quietest place."
