Having been told by a resident of Colorado to "not judge Colorado by La Junta," my wife and I approached the Stagecoach Motel with some trepidation. Despite the overwhelming good reviews, our fears were initially realized when we pulled up to an outdated motel on the edge of this dusty railroad town. With just a few cars in the lot it appeared fairly sketchy on first glance.

This hotel is the best in La Junta. The free breakfast was very good and the best of any hotel we stayed at. The staff is very nice and helpful. The beds were the most comfortable we have ever had in a hotel. It was quiet and very nice.
There were many places to stay in this town, including some top chain Hotels. Ive worked for one of those Chains for 9 years and after staying here I have to say I like the rooms here better. It was larger than normal hotel rooms, very clean and modern. It seems to be family run and the gentleman at check -in was friendly and still at the desk the next morning when I checked out. I stayed in the red cabin and loved it. The people are very nice. The grounds are cute and well kept. Cabin super clean. The pool was great and even has a nice slide. Expedia charged tax and then the property did too which seemed incorrect but it was only 5 bucks so not worth complaint on such a nice stay.
