Just a typical weekend stay.. nothing special. Most rooms do not have refrigerators... so we brought our own... no microwave either.. we made sandwiches... not roughing it... but it was a nice trip. Restaurants are took faraway to go out to eat. Come prepared to eat in!!
Moon River is located downtown. There is a café on the corner that serves the best fried green tomatoes I’ve ever had. The owner was amazing and we had communal breakfast every day at 8:30. This gave us an opportunity to swap stories and adventures and plan our next day in Maysville. I would definitely stay again.
It was great. A lot of people shy away from independent hotels which I believe is the reason for any negative reports on this property. A river view room opened up and we enjoyed our trip immensely.
Trains and Barge traffic added to the ambiance, not a detractor at all. The view of the bridge was amazing.

The room with 2 double beds was large and clean. It had a microwave and it had a refrigerator with a separate freezer. The room came with a little table and 2 chairs that was very nice for working on the computer. The breakfast is nice and includes fruits, cereals, juices, and pastries. The housekeeper does a great job.
The Benchmark Inn was a wonderful little Boutique style hotel. Our room was super cute and theme decorated perfectly. Having ice available in the evening and coffee in the morning was really nice to have. Would have loved to experience the food, however there was an event when we arrived and breakfast wasn't available in the morning due to no one being there yet. They arrived as we were leaving around 8. All in all though, one super quaint hotel!
