Check in is at Penny's Diner, about 20 ft from hotel entrance. It is about 8 years old, and provides a smoke free environment. I could rave on and on about this place, but suffice it to say I booked online, sight unseen, and booked again for the return trip and will continue to book whenever my travel takes me near Low Moor, VA.
Great place!!!! Restaurant is amazing with a unique setting and wine cellar in an old grist mill. Morning continental basket of goodies was phenomenal! Lots of history in the area and nice to stay with a local business instead of the corporate Homestead, which is beautiful but not the same country feel as here.
This is a beautiful resort but way too expensive. They nickel and dime you for every single possible thing, and all rates are way too high. The spa was amazing but not sure we can afford to go back. I think there may be better value elsewhere without all these extra expenses and charges.
I would say the stay was like visiting my grandma on her farm. Just felt like home. Everyone was nice. They had a little breakfast area where you could get like pastries or quiche. Then go sit outside to stare at the beautiful mountains. They also have a cafe for lunch and dinner. Which was delicious.
