There are some very fancy high-end hotels that are available in Stresa and Baveno, but I have to say that we lucked out when we selected this one. The location is absolutely perfect: just steps from the ferry for Isole Borromee (Madre, Bella, Superiore) - and the view is even better of these islands from Baveno than Stresa. I’ve had an amazing experience at the Larix on my latest spontaneous trip to the Saas Fee. I arrived the same day as I booked the hotel, and the staff done everything to make my short/spontaneous stay as comfortable as possible. The shuttle from the parking garage was available until 5PM, and although I arrived and hour after the deadline, they waited for me and helped me with the bags (it’s a good 15min walk, and definitely would’ve not been fun with all the ski gear). Beautiful, quiet setting. Wonderful staff that helped answer our questions. Parking was included which was a great bonus. The kitchen was well equipped and we chose to have available delivery for breakfast . All was to the highest standards. The bed was comfortable and our room had black and blinds making it easy to get a great night's rest. Great views too. There are several markets within walking distance. Not to mention a nice trail to walk. We will return.
