We had a getaway weekend and were very excited. We were met at the front desk with smiles and happiness. Very easy check in. They explained were are the hotel facilities were located, explained about the breakfast and dinner options. Very friendly and helpful the whole stay.
Inside the building it was clean, quiet and nice. In the back parking lot, it was very dirty. The grounds surrounding the lot was littered with trash and debris. One person looked to be sleeping in his car. I did appreciate the very bright lighting in that lot. A small clean up of the back lot would make a big difference in first impressions!!
Very nice hotel. One breakfast complaint: As with so many hotels, no sense of what tea-drinkers want. A wide selection of flavored "teas" (which are not actually teas), but no simple, normal tea, such as an English Breakfast Tea. This may seen like nit-picking, but it isn't to tea drinkers. You would never treat coffee drinkers this way.
Breakfast was included and instead of the standard continental breakfast, it was made to order! Anything!! Made fresh not sitting around. Excellent waitstaff.
The young women who checked us in & the women who checked us out were efficient and delightful. The rooms were excellent in every way especially the beds, pillows & sheets! Such an immaculately clean hotel everywhere.
What I did not like was the fact that I had to pay $100.00 deposit that nobody mentioned until I got there. and then it may take up to 3 to 5 days to get it back. So I had to go across the street and get $100 cash at 10:00 at night just so I can have my money back immediately. Never heard of such a thing...especially a tiny town like Smyrna...REALLY???
