This hotel was a great find! It is very affordably priced with a good location in Kunming. It is within walking distance of a metro station. The main negative feature was the surprisingly dirty carpets in the hallways for the rooms. The lobby area and most common area were all pristine. But, when we got off the elevator to go our room, which was also clean, I was a bit shocked to see carpeting that hadn’t been cleaned in a long time, with dirt stains all over the carpet. The hotel is located to the northeast of downtown Kunming. There are several restaurants across the street from the hotel offering barbecue and local dishes. The breakfast area is located basically next-door in a separate building offering Chinese-style breakfast and Western coffees. The hotel provides a free laundry service. It was basically “the guests washes (there were two washing machines on-site), and the Hotel dries (there were two dryers on-site), and delivers”. It worked out well.

The staff were great, were mostly able to communicate in English, they were peasant and accommodating, were able to extend our room at the same expedia price which was awesome. Really good location and staff helpful with advice and taxi. I will stay here rather than the intercontinental although it is a beautiful hotel but just a bit out of the way and expensive when the Crowne Plaza offers the same function in a better location,
