I recently traveled to Barbados early June for my birthday. The hotel staff was very warm and friendly; they checked in on my friends and I daily and gave us great advice of places to visit, places to eat and booked a catamaran excursion for us that picked us up and dropped us off. The staff were all great, but Julie-Ann and the security guard were exceptional!! They were kind, helpful, and went above and beyond with making my stay enjoyable. I traveled alone and had a few problems that they both didn't hesitate to assist me with. :) The hotel doesn't have an elevator so you may not want to pack heavy. It's located close to restaurants, the beach, bus stop and other events etc. The room was a decent size and clean.
