My wife and I stayed here while visiting Peneda-Gerês National Park. Sao Bento was a fantastic location for exploring the park and trails in the surrounding area. The hotel is a short 10-15-minute drive to Campo do Geres, where we went on a great hike (Cidade da Calcedónia trail) followed by a terrific drive through the park, along the Rio Homem (lake) to the Spanish border, and back down N-308-1. The hotel staff recommended a hike that left from the front door of the hotel. While...

Only thing we regret is that we only started one night here as we on the way from Portugal to Spain! We couldn’t say enough about this historical hotel and can’t wait to expect one day we return for the longer stay.
