Eichwalde is a quiet, residential town. I was planning a couple of long days at DESY-Zeuthen, one S-Bahn stop south of Eichwalde (or a nice 45 minute walk). I typically stay in Berlin proper, but wanted to give this a try. Anyway, I had a small, but very nice, single room. Checked in late via the intercom and key lock-box. I had a German speaker with me, but it seems likely it would have worked in any case. Breakfast was quiet, food and coffee were excellent.
Great hotel close to the airport, excellent value for the price. If you are looking only to explore the city of Berlin, you should consider another location because this hotel is outside of the city. However, public transportation is not far away if you don't mind riding the metro into the city.
Nice location. Away from the city. The staff was very helpful and I met some good travelling people there. They ware from Canada , Berlin and the USA. All great to fellowship with.
Staff were really friendly and although they didn’t speak much English, they tried. It is not stroller/wheelchair friendly. To access the reception you must go up a flight of stairs and to access the rooms you must go up 2 flights of stairs. There is a church right across the hotel that rings it’s bells every 30 minutes but besides that the area is really quiet and calm which was really nice.
These are lovely new rooms with a good size balcony. I stayed in a single room and was a bit surprised there was no small fridge this would be the one suggestion I would make to improve it. Otherwise well located next to supermarket, bus and tram and about 20 minutes to city centr. I enjoyed my stay here and staff were very helpful and friendly.
