My wife and I stayed here while visiting Peneda-Gerês National Park. Sao Bento was a fantastic location for exploring the park and trails in the surrounding area. The hotel is a short 10-15-minute drive to Campo do Geres, where we went on a great hike (Cidade da Calcedónia trail) followed by a terrific drive through the park, along the Rio Homem (lake) to the Spanish border, and back down N-308-1. This property is the perfect place to unwind and relax. We especially enjoyed the staff who were so helpful in planning our tour, scheduling taxis and answering all our questions. Dine here too, the food is excellent!

Me encanto este lugar, me super impresiono lo limpio que estaba todo, el personal muy amable necesite mas toallas y enseguida que llame vinieron a traerlas, el chico de la recepción me ayudo a encontrar una tienda que estaba buscando, parqueo amplio, algo Difícil de encontrar en el area, el restaurante tiene un menu variado con precios aceptables, y el buffet del desayuno muy bueno, los recomiendo 100% y repetiría sin dudas.

Quite retreat in mountains with modern clean rooms. Very attentive and pleasant staff

We had an excellent stay here for 3 nights in February. The room, indoor pool, and restaurant were excellent. In particular, the restaurant menu was extensive and reasonably priced, making the decision to eat at the resort easy.

This was one of our favorite places we stayed in Portugal. The lady who runs this is absolutely wonderful (as well as her pet goat and dogs). She even makes a lovely homemade breakfast, by request, for only 6€ a person. In the morning, we could smell her homemade bread baking. The suite we stayed in had a full kitchen, a super comfortable bed, nice bathroom and a beautiful balcony with a view of the hills. The property is very quiet and located in such a peaceful area. We loved our stay at Casanova in the superior room. The location is perfect, an easy drive into Braga and also a great launching point for Geres. No worries about parking at Casanova; free, secured and flat parking lot. Owner Anna will tell you exactly where to park in Braga. The hotel was an adventure in it of itself. Enjoyed wondering the grounds and it is not a far drive to the town. Room was quite spacious.

Great value. Casual Family run hotel, they take pride of their property and it shows. Good breakfast and if you don’t want to walk down to town center for dinner, their restaurant at night is good too. Fátima at the front desk was fantastic! Portuguese hospitality at its best.

Really special hotel in a great location of Guimaraes. The staff is incredibly warm and friendly, and cater to whatever you need. Breakfast was great. For Europe, these rooms are huge, and charmingly decorated. Pool and patio were great. We will definitely stay here again.

A truly wonderful stay. The staff were warm, attentive, and always ready to help. The location was excellent, set within a wonderful winery setting that made the experience even more memorable. Being a working, family-owned winery gave the property a unique charm and authentic atmosphere. The accommodation itself was fabulous — comfortable, stylish, and beautifully maintained. Highly recommended and would gladly return.
