We only had a short stay at the Ship Leopard hotel being a transit from train to the morning ferry. The hotel is perfectly located immediately across the street from the train station, but offered so much more. Surrounded by great restaurants, historic sites, and shopping, it turned out to be the perfect location for our visit to Portsmouth Harbor. The hotel itself is very comfortable with a friendly staff and good amenities. The room was comfortable and made for a nice stay.
Stayed here for 3 nights and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Had 2 excellent evening meals in the Brasserie. Spa treatments need to be booked in advance. There was no availability for my wife in our stay. However, used the spa pool and hot rooms after a day's long walk (Freshwater Bay well recommended for this) which were excellent.
The bed and breakfast is Cowes was in a great location. It was easy to walk to town and parking for our vehicle was provided. Lovely large room that has that Victorian feel. Beautiful property and a lovely sitting room to enjoy an afternoon cocktail. Be aware that transportation on the Isle of Wight seems to be limited. Primary source of transportation is via bus. Restaurants are a bit of a hike to get too, however, the hotel restaurant is very good. Great location for the Osborne House as it is right around the corner & is a must see.
