We have travelled a lot and for many years. I do not remember ever meeting a hotel staff that was as accommodating, kind, professional, genuinely interested in solving problems than these folks were. The only thing that matches their level of customer care in our experience is the Holiday Inn Express in Saugus Mass. near Boston. Beautiful property, lovely accommodations and staff. Breakfast was outstanding. The only complaint was that they tried to charge us for missing towels days after checkout that we did NOT take. Upon check out, we were flying to Barcelona and then taking a cruise from there after so there was certainly no need for us to take anything from the resort (nor could we fit it in our luggage with all we had packed).

We arrived and were met by friendly & efficient staff who got us checked in quickly with no wait - even though it was before lunch. We went directly to our beautiful 2 bedroom apartment which provided gorgeous ocean views. A fully outfitted kitchen with any appliances you need to enjoy dining in. A Snack Bar/coffee shop is a couple of blocks away for that morning latte. An Azores walking trail along the ocean is directly across the street! Our family loved staying at Whales Bay...

The property and hotel are situated close to the beach and Sunset Grill restaurant. It was clean and modern! The breakfast is delicious and brought to your room every morning. The staff was very helpful and provided information on itineraries for the day or suggestions on what to do! We had a stress-free and vacation because we had such a wonderful place to relax at the end of a busy day touring the island.

Until I moved into another hotel in Ponta Delgada, I had two minor complaints. 1) the tea at breakfast was made with tapwater rather than non-chlorinated bottle water. 2) the swimming pool was cold (this is in February their wettest month). Now I wish I had tea that I could drink. My new bed and breakfast (so they say) has horrible tea - I tried 4 different ones, and has horrible things that they say are rolls. Wish I stayed longer at Talisman. I was cheap and tried to save a few dollars. ...
