We loved our stay at Magma. It's a beautiful property with lovely rooms and restaurant. Breakfast was fairly standard but the beautiful dining room made it even better. The location is great for a south coast road trip. Would definitely stay here again!

What a beautiful location! Located in an isolated part of the island, nestled in a valley between two mountains, the property has a beautiful waterfall and a historic turf roofed hut on site. The hosts are very gracious and the guest room has a nice living room, kitchen and bath. It’s convenient to the glacier lagoon, ice caves and diamond beach. Just shop in Vik before you arrive since there are no decent nearby grocery stores or restaurants in the winter.
Hrifunes Nature Park is special for many reasons. For starters, the house we stayed in was modern, clean and beautiful. It was a perfect and peaceful place to stay in hopes of catching the Northern Lights. Additionally, the host who runs Hrifunes was truly the kindest person we encountered on our trip. We were totally surprised by the hotel Klaustur. The accommodations and on-site restaurant were top notch. Definitely a must stay whenever we are back in this part of Iceland.

My husband, daughter (20), and I stayed at The Garage for 2 nights (April 30-May 2). This is one of my favorite places we have ever stayed! If you plan to stay overnight in south Iceland do not miss this gem. The location is close to all the sights and activities, but the Garage is so comfortable and charming you might not want to leave the property! Cool decor and design, large and comfortable room, great amenities, and a wonderful family that owns/operates the Garage makes this a unique spot....
