Queda a pocas cuadras de la Plaza de Armas, suficientemente cerca para tener acceso a los servicios de la ciudad y moderadamente lejos para no sentir el ruido. La altura no molesta, Carhuaz está a 2600 msnm. El nombre de CASA le va muy bien, uno se siente en familia desde el momento en que llega. Perfecto lugar de base para explorar el Callejón de Huaylas.
Owners and staff makes you feel like at home, very attentive. Access is a little hard due to the road and not all drivers are familiar with the hotel, however the view is priceless
The staff at Hotel Abuelo is superlative. We speak no Spanish, so every day the owner, Philippe, would call travel agencies to set up tours for us. He walked with us to the pick up location and waited with us until the van arrived. He even helped us purchase our bus tickets to Trujillo. We were there for the Santa Cruz Trek on our own, and they helped us with info on where to get the collectivo to get there and gave us advice on what time to leave and how much to expect to pay, etc. If you stay there, definitely don't skip their breakfasts!
