We were very happy with our choice of the Sonesta Posadas. It is definitely a hotel designed for tourists and most everyone we met there was from the US or Europe. It is right on Lake Titicaca, and is behind a gate/wall which makes it quieter and safer. It is slightly outside of the main city area, but if you want to go downtown cabs are plentiful and cheap. The staff was really helpful whenever we needed anything. When our converter didn't work, they loaned us theirs for a long as we needed it. The breakfast was very good. They helped us confirm our tours and got us any messages. It is around the corner from Lima street with all kinds of restaurants and bars and shopping. It's only 2-3 blocks from city center.
