Gustavo was extremely helpful throughout the stay and was responsive when asking for anything we had questions about such as food, feeding the alpacas, lighting the fireplace for us and even arranged an early morning taxi for us to the ollantaytambo train station The food was good as well but the star of the show was how peaceful, clean and beautiful everything was. The original building was built several hundred years ago as a monastery. It was converted to a hotel several years ago and Sonesta has added several more building for rooms, but, has preserved the look of the old monastery. The grounds are gorgeous with flowers and trees in abundance. The restaurant was good with hearty meals and friendly service. It was a very pleasant place to come back to after a day of touring and just sit back and relax.

Where to begin! Immediately upon arriving we were greeted by the hotel owners at the door! They were welcoming and helped us with our bags to our rooms. The rooms were clean, big and comfortable.
