We had never stayed in a geodesic dome before but wanted something other than a plain hotel room. The Pagosa River Domes were great for a first time. The Domes are right off the river. We're budget hotel/camping types, so even the standard/basic room was way more than we're used to paying, but it was a worthwhile treat and we're budgeting for another trip next year.
