The Horse and Hound is located in a quiet area of the borderlands, yet has access to a good road net hat puts you in the center of many great places to visit. The place is quaint and comfortable, with the dining area being bright and cheerful, and the pub (the oldest part of the building) and is the village place to go (the locals are very friendly). I can't say enough about this place. Our stay was exceptional and revitalizing; If you're looking for quiet and solitude this is the place to go. There was no one at the desk. Self check in via the hotel email. Room was on 2nd floor up two flights of winding stairs not easy to maneuver with luggage. Limited food at the hotel. Did have free parking. Very old building not handicap accessible. Room was a good size and comfortable. Bathroom was very small couldn’t open the door all the way. Not recommended for older people or anyone who can’t do stairs.
