We weee warmly greeted and shown our room which had a small terrace. Breakfast was spectacular. Staff was always friendly and helpful and the room was clean and comfortable. It is in a great location for exploring.
The rooms are not very large. The pictures on the web show big ones, the two we had were quite tight. it was nice to have windows on the canal but the inside and outside of the windows was dirty so that made them not very desirable. I asked the front desk to have them cleaned but it never got done. The Tea, Coffee and Breakfast was delicious. Great staff and nice property overall. The safe in the room was modern and easy to use. The rooms are located right at the walking center of Leiden in a lovely restored building on one of the loveliest canals. The rooms are well appointed with comfortable beds and spacious bathrooms. Turn left out the door to the public market and the main shopping streets. Turn right to the lovely Pieterskerk (c 1221), many nice restaurants on the Cloksteg and the old academic buildings of the venerable Leiden University and it’s famous gardens.
Our room was spacious and so comfortable. We had a nice corner room. We had spent several days before in a very small, historic hotel in another town. We tripped over our luggage or furniture constantly.

The SS Rotterdam is a very nice place to stay in Rotterdam. It was an easy check in and the rooms are clean. The breakfast is very good as is dinner in the Lido Grill. I will stay at the SS Rotterdam again.
