Everything was fine. There was a lot of construction going on outside the hotel/bed-and-breakfast. But there is nothing that they can do about it. I have no complaints.
We loved our stay in Gdansk at the Podewils. It is slightly out of the main historic district, and hence very quiet, although the main district is available with a 5 minute walk. The staff and ownership of the hotel and restaurant are very friendly and eager to help in all ways. I will be back here every time we come to Gdansk. The room was beautifully decorated, well designed, had everything you could want. We stayed in a suite in the oldest part of the building with a skeleton key to open the door! Original wood, beautiful plaster details, comfortable bed. The sauna is free to guests and is spacious and never crowded. Their breakfast is amazing and the service was really tailored. About a 15 minute walk to old town.
Wow. 11/10. Had such a great stay here. The location vis a vis Main Town Gdansk is super convenient, the breakfast is EXCELLENT. Very helpful and friendly staff. The triple attic room was perfect for my stay with my mom, was nice to have a little extra space. I will probably visit Gdansk again and I will certainly be staying here.
Beautiful room with large windows to let light in. Delicious breakfast buffet with fresh fruit and many options. Nice spa and restaurant on site. A little walk from the old town area, and no restaurants nearby.
The property has many amenities for long term residents also making it convent for doing laundry and having pastime activities at night. The area is right off the 8 and 9 streetcar lines making it convent to get to the city center. The only pitfall was the confusing check-in process and mergers of staff being very hard to contact. Otherwise, good value for money.
This apt was in a great location near the riverwalk of Gdansk. In 5 minutes you were at the restaurants, shops and tours. The apt was spacious and for our needs. Would definitely recommend.
The location of this hotel is excellent, but as Rick Steves notes in his guidebook, it’s a very basic accommodation. My room stank like a wet dog, so I slept with my windows open to air out the place. I thought it was the carpet at first, but the stench was permeated in the mattress and in the mornings my pjs and I also smelled of it. There were obnoxious, drunken tourists also staying at this hotel, and one of them had the room next to mine. His friends would start pounding repeatedly on...
This is an attractive and well located property on the river. Our room was small but fine for a short stay. The lines to seek check-in or out could be long. I wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again although I’m a Hilton Honors status person. Was staying here because family was here.
