I stayed at the Landwehrbrau for two nights with a colleague of mine. We had an exceptional stay from the time we arrived until we departed two days later. THe hotel is located about 4 miles from Rothenburg and is central located to many tourist stops in the area. The dinner is not to be missed nor is the brewery tour and tasting (for 8Euros pp). I would highly recommend this hotel.

Checking in was simple. The desk clerk was very helpful and spoke English and German. Our room was on the top floor of the hotel facing the street. The room interior was clean, modern and furnished well. The bathroom was nice, spacious with a tub/shower combined.

Everything about our stay was amazing. We were warmly welcomed and all the staff was all top notch. Dinner was excellent. Our room was impeccable and the property is breathtaking. Breakfast was a highlight and we agreed the bed was the most comfortable out of all the places we stayed in our two week trip.

Rothenburg o. d. Tauber is a great place to visit and this hotel was located on the street where you enter from the train station, so it is very easy to find. And also about three stores from the square which is a great location for exploring. It was clean and quiet and had a great free breakfast.
We arrived at noon for 4 PM check-in. There was no one at desk so waiter in restaurant just said 4 PM. We had reserved parking but had to pay to park in public lot till 4 - not ideal and cost an extra eight euros. Room was updated, clean and quiet. When I arrived I was overwhelmed at how clean the hotel was from lobby to room to gasthaus.I stayed there for eight nights and on one occasion around 9:00 PM I was eating in the gasthaus and I could see straight into the kitchen with its clean white walls and a lady was standing on a ladder cleaing the insides of the light fixtures and ceiling. In the dining area there is top to bottom woodwork and there was not a spec of dust on any of it or on the knicknacks displayed all over.

The dining experience was absolutely superb. If I could give more stars, I would. He had very excellent wine pairings and was very helpful when we had questions. Helped us with our bags up and down the stairs. He even valeted the German super car we rented! Michael also made our breakfast experience smooth and easy. The staff is so friendly and attentive to their guests. My only regret is that we didn’t stay longer!

Literally, when you step out of the hotel, you are at the most photogenic spot in the village. Breakfast amazing and the staff exceptional! Highly recommend!ed!
Honestly the staff were very helpful. Breakfast was available if you purchased it. Don’t expect a full spread of protein. If you’re on a higher floor and you have heavy luggage prepare for that. The room has a rotating floor fan and a separate mini ac unit but there wasn’t really a way to hook it up to the window in my room so it got pretty warm. Overall the place is located near the train station , short walk and if you are visiting folks in the military you aren’t getting any closer.
Newly remodeled hotel in an older building in downtown Frickenhausen. Rooms and bathrooms are spacious, clean, and everything looks brand new. Comfortable beds and the A/C works great. Friendly and helpful English-speaking staff, excellent breakfast, and nice beer garden. Free parking is a three-minute walk. We've stayed there twice during the summer of 2025. Would I stay there again? Yes!
