If being by the water is a major draw, beach near Chilhac is a spot you might want to check out when visiting central Chilhac. If you want to continue walking by the waves, head to Plage de l’Île d'Amour.
This place was wonderful! It was spotless, comfortably warm (early spring), breakfast was great. The owner is absolutely delightful. There was even a place to park the car. Wonderful bathroom with shower. And for us most importantly, it was quiet. The stars were beautiful at night too. We plan on returning.
The pictures and description of this place online do not do it justice. We had no idea to expect that we'd drive a rough cobblestone road up the mountain to stay the night in a fairy tale castle, complete with a tower and a truly BREATHTAKING view of the countryside from our tall French windows which opened up to admit a fragrant breeze.
Truthfully, we chose the hotel only because it was close to Chavaniac-Lafayette, and we didn't expect much. But even if our expectations had been higher, I...
This is the best value quality hotel I have ever stayed in. Family run and friendly , superb Restaurant, comfortable rooms, quality decorations. Just great and six stars.
This is an absolutely stunning and magical place ! We had the impression to really be transported back in time and live in a real castle. And Amélie is lovely, the garden beautiful. Besides the entire village is wonderful and well worth the stop! Come you will not regret it!
The hotel is quite well-named; it really feels like the end of the world. Their dinner menu with a 17-euro three-course meal, aperitifs at 2.5 euros and a 50cl carafe of very drinkable wine at 6 euros made the place feel like a steal. HIghly recommended?
