This is an incredible property for gophers. The grounds have a pond that is private and natural with fish. The golf course is vast and beautiful. There is a state of the art spa., and, all is affordable.
The location is fantastic - with views of the Fontainebleau Chateau and within easy walking distance to shops and restaurants. Our room was elegantly appointed, very clean, and thoughtfully presented. The beds were very comfortable and the room contained eerything we needed. We easy found uber rides to get to Vaux le Vicompte and Barbizon. Our host Philip and his brother were perfect hosts, this hotel having been in their family for 3 generations - they have kept it traditional and yet have...
Only negative is the 3 sometimes narrow flights of stairs with suitcases. ( not unusual for small town France but still a pain) Had also selected this hotel as the restaurant was highly rated but it was closed that night. Finally found one good restaurant after walking around ( many questionable places we did not want to try!)
I booked thru expedia tho I had stayed at this hotel before on business while at instead. I was upgraded to a deluxe room for no extra charge and it was truly wonderful. Room just lovely. Bathroom redone complete w fabulous Jacuzzi to ease tension of long haul flights. Went to bed relaxed and cozy. Staff extraordinarily welcoming and helpful as always. Can't wait to go back!
