Rathmore
10/10 Excellent
"The Rathmore House is a 92-acre estate nestled on a rolling hill in the central highlands region of Tasmania. The peaceful and tranquil surrounding of the property was all we needed to pace ourselves after two weeks of manic road travel from our Hunter Valley home in New South Wales. Staying in this historic site for two nights had a bucolic and rural touch that made us feel more at home than transient tourists hopping from one hotel to another. The beautiful and elegant homestead consists of tasteful and stylish rooms in the main Rathmore House, a fully equipped and self-catering cottage, and a shearers quarter decked with bespoke rooms styled in rustic perfection and suited for all types of travellers. Room amenities are eco-friendly and gentle to the environment. We slept like a log during our two-night stay here proving this property to be a comfortable and safe place to be. Above all, staying in the Rathmore will not break the bank because the cost of accommodation is relatively affordable. The Rathmore offers quality and clean rooms that are the best value for your money. A day or more here is absolutely a surreal experience unique to Tasmania. You will have a moment of a lifetime spotting resident platypus in the lake as well as feeding and patting horses, named Tim Tam and Emily, a bullock named Hercules, and three alpacas. Our hosts, Cally and Richard, helped us create memories we will never forget."

Hamlet Downs Country Accom

"A comfortable 4 nights stay. Spacious and well equipped cabin. Had everything we needed. Washing machine came in handy especially for a family of four. Very friendly and helpful host. Definitely recommend."
Maydena Lodge
8/10 Good
"Room was clean and with good heating, enough clothe hangers and shelves to put bags and things on. Kitchen was basic but not enough cutlery to share with other guests. Would be good to have hand dryer or paper towels in the toilet/bathroom. Otherwise very convenient location for entry into the Lake Pedder/Gordon area and close to Mt Field National Park."

New Norfolk Apartments
10/10 Excellent
"The most gorgeous and serene view of the river and mountains! Probably one of my favourite stays. It is fully equipped with kitchen supplies, essentials etc. Very convenient parking in a safe location. Plenty of places to walk nearby, cherry farms, shops, waterfalls not too far. The hosts have been great with communication and check in was hassle free! I highly recommend this wonderful stay if you're looking for a peaceful getaway."
