Every aspect of our stay was extremely lovely. The room and amenities were very spacious and lovely and it was very tastefully decorated. Truly an amazing place to stay. If you want to stay in a very old hotel, you will not be able to beat this, maybe 800-900 years old? They have put a lot of effort into updating this place to make it work as a hotel. The only effort that was lacking (maybe my view because I'm American) was that the room didn't have AC. This is truly a special place! Absolutely one of the best meals I've ever had in my entire life! Staff was very helpful and the setting is gorgeous! Not inexpensive but worth every dime. Wish I had a room with a shower, but otherwise everything was exceptional! Look forward to coming back!!
A challenge to find up high was made worthwhile by friendly, attentive staff, who collectively helped fill in our sparse French. Knockout view of valley below and imposing Castlenau. Hotel restaurant was top notch, reasonable looked out over the valley. No need for a balcony room, if there are any, given the broad views from double rooms.
The hosts are extremely nice and accommodating. It was a bit of a surprise that I was staying in an upstairs apt of their home. Regardless, it was comfortable and they are friendly. Stunning views of the village and the valley from the apt.
