There was everything to like about The Bell Inn, especially its location across from a scenic and rapidly moving river. The room was small but definitely adequate for a solo traveler. I worried needlessly about having a shared bath because it was just steps from the room and always available. The pub below the guest rooms served a variety of tasty food, especially top-notch fish & chips. Plus, there was very talented LIVE musician on Saturday night who also guided karaoke time. It ended at 11,...
Enjoyed the stay at this tuck-away facility - clean room with upgraded modern amenities. The WiFi coverage is limited to the lobby area, they need to extend it to the rooms.
We had a lovely stay at the Cotswald Gateway Hotel, the managing couple were very friendly and helpful as was all the staff. We had a delicious dinner at the restaurant. Walk into town was lovely too! Perfect weekend !
Wonderful country pub and accommodations. House staff , sarah ( in particular) very very kind ,understanding and helpful. Billy ,am wait staff , efficient, quick to offer solutions.. very kind and bright… will do well whatever path in life he chooses
My husband and I were on an adventure along the countryside back to Bath and booked this little gem of a find. Whoooaa what an interesting place to get lost! loved loved loved this little bed and breakfast!
There’s a restaurant, a bar, a beer garden, and honestly, we didn’t see it all. There is a whole farm and pigs and walking paths that I hope we get back to see another time.
The food was well prepared, all organic and scratch made. More interestingly, they’re self reliant on their own...
Perfect location in Abingdon and just minutes walk to buses to Oxford if that's your interest. Took about 25-30 minutes to get into downtown Oxford on the 2 or 3 buses...very easy. The inn had a recent renovation and while it is clearly a very old property it was very charming, clean, and nicely decorated. Food was good and free breakfast had good offerings. We were there during the World Cup and they opened a separate bar/event space to fit both locals and guests in to watch the games which...
It is rare to find something that has hit all high marks, but the Remont did it!
I stayed a week and my son 3 nights, two rooms booked.
The staff were the BEST- I meet Monica at check in and then Alex and another woman who's name I can't remember-sorry. All staff were professional and very conscious of the role of they play in the guest's satisfaction. Rooms were well designed, bathrooms roomy and the breakfast had a good variety- the cut fresh fruit was my go-to with a selection of yogurts and...
A truly delightful hotel in a convenient location with excellent staff and facilities. Impossible to fault overall - 2 tips… dont park under the trees in front of the building. I dont know what the birds eat, but they eat A LOT of it. Then theres steps….pack light, you’ll be hauling your luggage up a LOT of steps :-) - its a 13th century manor house, lifts werent a “thing” !
The staff was wonderful from Chip carrying our bags up to room to Sam taking care of us in the Pub. It is a Pub last call is at 10 pm so not late, your room is right above. If your an early to bed and early to rise person this might not be the best place for you.
The rooms are fairly small, but this is to be expected in such an old building. Spotlessly clean, good supplies of tea, coffee and hot chocolate and biscuits provided too. High quality linens.
The pub itself serves good quality beer (Wadworth's and associates), and the home cooked food was also great and healthy(ish).
Breakfast was hearty, with a good choice of options.
Staff couldn't help enough... Just about perfect really!
Room was clean comfy bed , staff friendly
Breakfast ok , seemed if the English breakfast items had been kept warm so little bit dry but ok .
Fan supplied in bedroom which helped as we were ther on 2 very hot evenings in July.
Overall good
The owner of the hotel was very friendly and accommodating, he kept the kitchen open late for us to have dinner( which was delicious). We talked quite a bit about the hospitality industry. We had a great breakfast the next morning.
My wife and I had an excellent time at the Oxford Royal Hotel. It was our first time in Oxford and wanted a hotel close to bus and train stations. This hotel location was great for all our needs. Many restaurants were just a 5 minute walk up the street. Our bathroom was newly renovated and the beds were clean and comfortable. We would definitely recommend staying here during your stay in Oxford.
