Hotels in Ribeira Brava

This was my second time staying at Cliff bay and it was even more exceptional than the first. The have very low employee turnover so you are remembered which was very nice:-) The food is world class and the accommodations were amazing, I am already planning my next visit!!!

Everyone was very good about helping us. Really appreciated that everyone spoke English. Rooms were great..

My husband and I stayed four nights and had a very positive experience. The staff was unfailingly friendly and helpful and allowed us to check in early. The hotel has a low density in terms of number of rooms and a relaxing atmosphere was prevalent. The breakfast buffet (included in price) was excellent and provided a good variety of good quality choices. The pool, while outdoors, was heated sufficiently to allow a swim even when the temperature was on the chilly side. The room was clean...

We had a fabulous time! The hotel is charming and we had a great room overlooking the ocean. We were upgraded which was a pleasant surprise. The promenade walk is beautiful and for the best fish go to Barqueiro Restaurant off of the promenade. The staff was very helpful! We also walked to downtown Funchal and old section of town- make sure you walk to old part- Street Santa Catarina. Breakfast at hotel was excellent and with great views of the coastline.

We stayed a week and the staff was incredibly accommodating. At the restaurant they were able to work with our dietary restrictions, for morning hikes when we would miss hikes they arranged a takeaway bag for us to take in the morning. Very clean space and great views.

The location was very convenient for trips to both the coast and inside of the island, a straight shot from the airport but still quiet, safe and secluded. The property was sparkling clean, including grounds and swimming pools. 24 hrs front desk, quickly responsive to requests such as extra patio chair or ironing equipment. Plenty of lounge chairs available with or without sunshade around the immaculately clean pools. Food variety at each meal included vegetarian, gluten and lactose free...

Excelente estadia no Moon & Sun Funchal. Hotel elegante, com localização privilegiada e quartos confortáveis. Equipa profissional, cordial e atenciosa. Uma experiência, sem dúvida a repetir.

It's been my home for years. Wonderful landscape, pools even sea water pool. Nice staff good pool Manager and staff, very devoted. It's relative quiet. No loud tacky Americans in sights, people dress Decently even at dinner. You can chose A mountain view, a Harbour view, or even A dedicatedly sea view. I prefer the Harbor view since you see both , sea and Harbor. Fine dining, especially the Red Lion across the street. Decent food well priced.

The Pestana is an excellent hotel facing the ocean. From our room we had an excellent view to the hotel pools and gardens and to the ocean. It was like being in the middle of the sea. Service was excellent and the staff incredibly helpful and nice. We had breakfast included and, leaving at 3:00 a.m., they offered to bring tea or coffee to our room. We accepted and we had a complete continental breakfast brought to our room at 2:00 a.m. at no charge. The hotel has beautiful outdoors/indoors...

Great stay. lovely property, nice breakfast buffet, live music every night, and an excellent pool/hot tub.

We stayed in this hotel for 3 days in mid July. The hotel is wonderfully situated with views of the sea and/or the garden from many rooms and nice facilities. It's a very pretty property with secure parking and a lovely lobby. The old town is a bit far away, if you're walking, but the promenade is just down the hill and you can walk in each direction. While I did love staying in this hotel, there were two drawbacks. This was our least favorite breakfast of our two week stay in Portugal...

We visit this hotel for the second time and both times very satisfied with our stay. The personnel is very friendly and helpful, rooms are very clean and with modern design, facing mostly partially the ocean. Hotel design is modern and practical, food is extraordinary, a lot of amenities are available - as free group classes at the pool,spa center and entertainment after dinner. It is really a feeling to have vacation in the paradise.

What's to say? It was excellent in every aspect!

Previous reviews are for the old place (before renovation), so I didn't know what to expect.. but I was pleasantly surprised. The place is amazing. Nice, subtle design, very helpful staff, good location.. The pool on the roof is heated (so they say, but I guest they mean with solar panels). In the end of october it was 25 degrees and water was around 22.

Great location, great owner. Everything was perfect. Bruno was very accommodating, and the staff were very gracious. We will return.
