I think the prince of darkness designed the décor. Very modern and very black. Super big, comfortable bed! The place was spotless. The staff were amazing. The hotels restaurant was our favorite from our trip around Portugal. Great food and service. Even the breakfast that was included with our room was good with a large variety (eggs, bacon, pasteries, fruit etc...) The rooms are very quiet. (great soundproofing). About a 5 minute drive straight down the road is a VERY long, clean, sandy beach....
I loved this hotel so much! I did not want to leave. I actually felt very down the day we checked out. I have stayed in many 5 star hotels but never had such impeccable care. It was above and beyond. First, this 35 room hotel has been entirely restored to its original Art Deco form, including cork floors in the room, beautiful marquetry floors in the lobby, elegant furniture and art work in the lobby and bar. Also the sleek, elegant Art Deco door handles (that are beautiful but not so easily grasped).

We stayed for 2 days after our cruise. We arrive early. Front desk was welcoming and offered us an available room. We declined and said we’d wait for our reserved room on the upper floor. We toured Lisbon and returned to Lumen in the mid afternoon.

this hotel was perfect in every way , excellent location very clean and modern rooms in a 300 year old building . our room looked over a very busy street with a view of the famous arch . the street lined with restaurants was noisy with the window open but once closed we could not hear anything . very nice breakfast and the front desk people were very helpful and freindly . will stay here next visit
