Great Ryokan. The property is beautiful and it's not far from the Kumamoto limousine bus stop (the hotel gives you rides to and from the stop anyway). Short walking distance to a bunch of restaurants and the main area of the town. Top notch service and super clean. The outdoor onsen is incredible. A few (minor) complaints: -Some of the decorations are a bit tacky -You only get one bath towel during your stay. If you want an extra one you have to pay extra. This seemed...weird given the...

What a great experience! Beautiful grounds, friendly staff, and delicious food. The cats theme is charming and we loved being able to spend time with them. It was nice having a private onsen and since there are limited guests, we didn’t have to reserve and were able to bathe whenever we asked. I recommend staying more than one night, and wish the trip were longer. Thank you for the beautiful stay!

I loved it! Despite not speaking much Japanese I had a great time. It was really easy to get to from Yufuin station by taxi since there’s a taxi stand right there. The only hard part is if you don’t have a car, getting to and from the station once the front desk closes is somewhat difficult. I brought food with me and snacks before arriving. The water temperature is perfect and the room I rented was beautiful!

Very nice amenities and great view! Unfortunately, when we arrived, we didn’t know which home we were staying in. We just tried the pin at each of the lockboxes until it worked. It was later that we realized each of the homes had a different name (Pool, Sauna, Garden, etc.) The hot springs tub was lovely and my kids enjoyed the outdoor pool. The kitchen was well stocked and the free drinks were very nice. Also the taxi reservation helped a lot since we didn’t have a rental car. Thank you for...

I stayed one night in Yufuin. It was very close from the station and the bus terminal. It took about 4 minutes away from the bus terminal. The way to the pension was very nice enjoying cherry blossoms and the stream. The pension was cozy and clean. I can't forget the kindness of the owner. I talked to him in English and there were times that he couldn't understand. But he tried to help and explain everything I could enjoy in Yufuin. The indoor onsen was also very nice.
